Salut Yannick,
Sounds like a great adventure for you!
Mais....do you really know what you're in for down there
If you'd like a sneak preview, you could take a look at my 2003 Phillip Island Grand Prix post with photos from when I was down there (I went by car with my husband's rock band, who played on the Saturday night).

You're already travelling huge distances to get there, but I should point out, that a lot of the real fun happens on the Saturday (especially free entertainment on the Samedi soir, the atmosphere in Cowes, marquees, interviews with riders held there, etc. ) and Dimanche is quite tame by comparison, even though that's when the big race is on.
I seem to remember that the last time we went to Merimbula (still about a day south on our trip from Narooma but maybe we were stopping a fair bit and it wasn't the full day's driving I seem to remember) it still took us 7 hours from Melbourne, so that makes your day 2 really really huge, if not seemingly impossible.
If you'd like more info, don't hesitate to drop me an MP.
I would have liked to be there again, but it doesn't seem like the band will be able to get the gig again this year so one or some of them are just going as individuals.
Another tip: accommodation could possibly book out for hundreds of kms, and in a month's time (and probably getting that way now) all accommodation is probably completely gone, so once you have a plan & participants, good idea to book accom. On the island, holiday houses for the weekend like we had make a good alternative to motels - we only paid $140 for the whole 7 or 8 of us to stay in the one we had at Smiths Beach.
Bonne chance!
Kate
