Antoine Fauchery: Caught by a Frenchman’s Eye – A special presentation from the Library’s photography collection. Antoine Fauchery, French photographer and writer first visited Victoria in 1852 at the height of the gold rush and returned in 1856 when he established himself in Collins Street as a photographer. This talk examines Fauchery’s works and includes on display a rare album of his photographs. Presented by Dr Dianne Reilly, La Trobe Librarian, State Library of Victoria.
