Fixed term of up to 3 yearsThe Centre for Democratic Institutions (CDI) supports the efforts of partner countries in democratic reform and enhancement of their political governance, parliamentary systems and political parties.
CDI is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and is housed in the Crawford School of Economics and Government at the Australian National University (ANU). CDI provides training, capacity development and opportunities for peer support to politicians, political party officials, parliaments and parliamentary staff in Australia’s immediate region, and undertakes applied research to support these activities.
The Director will be responsible for CDI’s strategic vision, direction and activities, managing a wide range of programs, policy issues and corporate support activities. The Director will be responsible for forging cooperative links with parliaments, political parties, and political institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, designing and delivering training and capacity development programs, and maintaining close contact with Australian Government representatives in Canberra and overseas and with other key international organisations.
The Director will be an employee of the ANU and an attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
