Senior Analyst Programmer
Project Leader

Principal Purpose of the Job:
To produce quality software that meets the requirements and expectations of our company.
Main Accountabilities:
The following activities indicate the main components of the job content. At any one time the role may focus on some but not necessarily all of them and may include other compatible and related activities.
• Design software solutions to complex business requirements.
• Analyse, define, and document system and functional requirements.
• Consult with implementation staff, and other internal technical resources to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
• Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.
• Take the role of Technical Lead on complex projects, providing mentoring to other team members.
• Consult with Implementation staff and other stakeholders to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
• Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports and printed documents, and interfaces with other systems.
• Unit test own programs.
• Respond to technical writers’ requests for information regarding production of release notes, user manuals and other documentation.
• Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
• Handles any other reasonable task as specified by management.
Performance Measures:
• Solution designs, analysis and programming exhibit consistently high quality standard
• All allocated work is performed within estimated time frames
• Individual efficiency, and contribution to team efficiency
Requirements:
Essential:
• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical or commercial disciplines, or other applicable tertiary qualification.
• The ability to apply an understanding of .net technology to designing flexible and maintainable solutions appropriate to the application.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in the design of Windows applications, Windows Services and Web Services in .Net technologies.
• Hands-on technical development experience in .Net technologies.
• Written and verbal communication skills to understand requirements and clearly communicate with clients, Team Leader, Technical Writers and other team members.
• Experience in object oriented software design and development.
• A working knowledge of SQL, preferably with experience in one or more RDBMS such as Microsoft SqlServer, Sybase, Oracle or Centura SqlBase.
• Experience in writing specifications and documentation.
• Programming experience in a team environment.
• Problem solving abilities.
• A professional approach including the provision of software that is tested, well documented and maintainable.
Advantageous:
• Experience in project management.
• Experience in developing enterprise solution products.
• Experience in the design of web-based n-tier solutions in .Net technologies.
• Experience in the design of Web User Interface (DHTML), preferably with experience in Javascript.
• Experience in developing accounting products.
• Knowledge of the processes involved with registration of Intellectual Property.
• Knowledge of the workflows and business practices of Intellectual Property firms.
• Knowledge of technologies like XML, XSLT or Ajax.
