Salut Pierrick et Vanessa,
$75,000 par annee, c'est une salaire formidable! That's more than my husband could ever get with a PhD and his 3 other degrees as well!
Et les autres ont raison: la vie a Melbourne n'est pas trop cher.
The part where it gets expensive is if you're intending to buy a house (but even then, it's still much cheaper than Sydney. I'm just looking at it from the perspective of my city, 100 kms away, where houses of a similar size and style can cost at least $100,000 less).
For an example on apartment renting, mon frere loue un appartement dans un meuble de 23 etages tout neuf au centre ville de Melbourne (looking over the Yarra and the Casino) pour $450 par semaine, 2 bedroom, gym, swimming pool - absolument tout.
Melbourne's got to be the best city in Australia for food! C'est formidable. Just about anything you could possibly want, from the super affordable $10 (ou moins) all-you-can-eat to the super-cher, depending on preferance.
I only wish it was the same in my city...
_ Kate,
still dreaming of a French Restaurant for Ballarat un jour pour moi et tout mes potes de L'alliance Francaise de Ballarat.....
