Café Manager - RACV City Club
The Café Manager is responsible and accountable for supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in effectively managing the operation of Le Petit Gateau “Pastry Shop”. This includes both the day to day function of ensuring the appropriate quality and level of service to customers is maintained and guiding the future direction of the Outlet to generate increased business opportunities.
The main responsibilities will include:
Effectively managing the service operation of the outlet.
Overseeing the day to day operation involved in servicing customers food and beverage needs by ensuring timely and courteous service.
Anticipating customers needs and managing difficult situations including complaints
Acting as host and establishing a rapport with the customers that ensures increased sales, repeat business and greater use of pastry shop services.
Contributing to team morale and staff motivation, by supporting and assisting Le Petit Gateau service and kitchen staff. Liaise between management, kitchen and staff to prevent issues arising.
Complying with company policies and procedures regarding occupational health and safety, grooming standards, customer service, security and responsible service of alcohol.
The successful applicant must satisfy the following criteria:
Certificate or qualification in Food & Beverage studies
Certificate in the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Demonstrated experience within a bistro, cafe and pastry shop style service.
In depth knowledge of coffee making.
Good knowledge in chocolate and pastry items
Extensive understanding the hospitality industry.
Knowledge of RACV products and services.
Knowledge of local tourism sites and events is desirable.
Prior management experience is highly desirable.
