The Puget Organ in the Chapel of Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart is the only fully authentic 19th Century French organ of its kind in Australia. The organ is the work of Puget Père et Fils of Toulouse, built in 1890 for the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Bordeaux. Saved from confiscation, it was sent to Sydney and installed in 1906 in the newly completed Chapel, designed by the noted Architect, Mr John Horbury Hunt. This item of world cultural heritage is now in need of restoration and a highly experienced French organ builder has been chosen to recreate this organ to “world’s best practice” standards.
The evening will feature an Exhibition of Significant Items from the School’s French Heritage from the late 19th and early 20th Century.
Tickets $50 includes Cocktails & entry to Exhibition (Concert only – 7.30 pm $20)
