Hey guys (et les filles aussi) - merci pour les emails des reponses.
Nous avons maintenant (so far) environ 10 personnes pour jouer a la petanque (pour la plupart des nouveaux membres "newbies"
)
Some more details:
Venue: Birrarung Marr Park (par la Yarra, juste derriere de Federation Square).
Meeting point: opposite a large brown building called "Artplay" (which is just along a bit from the playground, almost directly opposite the Rowing Clubs which are on the other side of the river)
Last year when I first saw Melbourne's newest park, I wondered why there's no grass as our normal parks have, and how useful so much open expanse of flat gravel could be........and now I see what good use we could put it to!
Je suis alle au Melbourne hier and I checked for possible spots for us to 'take over'.....it looks even better than I hoped - and in the spot I chose, there are even heaps of picnic benches right beside the river.
And if anybody else has a set of boules they can bring along on the day, we could have 2 games playing at once.
When it gets closer to the date, we can decide a few more details together, like where we go after petanque & afternoon tea (I recommend the pub on the other side of Federation Square - 1 block further up Flinders Street away from the station - I don't know its name but it's supposed to be Melbourne's oldest pub. It looks pretty typical, and cheaper than the drinking places at Fed Square.)
